Responsibilities
- Review production schedules, processes, specifications and related information.
- Design manufacturing processes that maximize efficiency and minimize waste.
- Develop and implement process improvements and technology upgrades.
- Design control systems to minimize production costs and problems.
- Develop design and manufacturing standards in conjunction with management and staff use. Make lists of supplies and equipment, purchase orders, analyze costs, and estimate production costs.
- Design the facility layout and determine staffing requirements.
- Train employees on new procedures and provide instructions and manuals.
- Manage process documentation and prepare production reports.
Requirements
- Requires an Industrial Engineering degree or related field.
