Job Summary

To complete a 4‑year apprenticeship program in Tool and Die.

Knowledge And Skills (Education)

  • Must be able to speak, read and write English.
  • Must have reliable transportation.
  • Must have registration for Apprenticeship.
  • Must be able to lift up to 60 lbs.
  • Available to work overtime when required.
  • Must have and use own tools (Section TRP 008).

Major Accountabilities

  • First‑year apprentice: run flycutters, stone forms, rough mill and drill blocks, clamp dies in press, load and unload dies from press.
  • Second‑year apprentice: finish die components, fit components to dies, help toolmakers troubleshoot in press.
  • Third‑year apprentice: begin building stations for dies from blue‑prints and start working independently.
  • Fourth‑year apprentice: work almost at toolmaker's level; build stations to print under toolmaker supervision.
