Ferrous Processing and Trading (FPT) is one of North America’s premier processors, buyers, sellers, and recyclers of scrap metals of all kinds and is a key supplier to the metals industry of North America. FPT is a wholly-owned business of Cleveland-Cliffs and has an immediate opportunity for a Cashier at our Detroit, MI location. The Cashier is responsible for taking cash or cash equivalent in payment for goods or services.
Summary ofResponsibilities:
+ Computes or re-computes bill, itemized lists, and tickets showing amount due.
+ Makes change and issues receipts or tickets to customers.
+ Records amounts received and prepare reports of transactions.
+ Reads and records totals shown on cash register tape and verify against cash on hand.
+ Quotes price and describes features of items for which money is received.
+ Issues credit memorandums and handle exchanges to customers for returned merchandise.
