Position Summary

In this course, the principles of biochemistry are introduced with a chemical emphasis. Topics include: the chemistry of water and biologically relevant aqueous solutions, structure of biomolecules and biopolymers (amino acids, peptides and proteins, nucleotides, DNA and RNA, carbohydrates and polysaccharides, lipids and biomembranes), introduction to enzymes and coenzymes.

Qualifications

Required Academic Degree: Master’s Degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry or a Cognate Discipline.

Required Discipline: Chemistry, Biochemistry or a Cognate Discipline.

Other Qualifications: (i) PhD in Chemistry, Biochemistry or a Cognate Discipline, or (ii) a Master’s Degree plus a PhD in progress in these disciplines along with a Laurier University Teaching Certificate (or equivalent recognized teaching credential) and experience in the posted or substantially similar course, or (iii) a Master’s Degree plus an M.Ed. an...
