Consultant Intensive Care Medicine

Responsibilities
- Participate in a 1:8 Senior Decision Maker rota including prospective cover
- Join a team of 8 Consultants and supporting Specialists and Specialty Doctors covering general services of the hospital, including Accident and Emergency, Theatres (maternity, gynaecology, orthopaedic, trauma), ophthalmology and ENT
- Provide on‑call shifts for non‑residential cover of emergency ITU, supervising a dedicated resident anaesthetist
- Lead assessments of deteriorating patients for emergency admission to the Intensive Care Unit
- Manage Level 2 care locally, treating patients and transferring Level 3 patients to the Royal Lancaster Infirmary Site
