The Ministry of Justice is hiring a Crown Prosecutor in Edmonton for a two-year temporary position. Candidates will lead several important legal processes, including overseeing Provincial Prosecutors and contributing to policy initiatives in regulatory enforcement. Legal research, writing, and strong advocacy skills are essential for success in this role.
Key Responsibilities:
• Conduct Charter application defenses in regulatory contexts
• Handle select summary conviction appeals
• Supervise, train, and mentor Provincial Prosecutors
• Ensure compliance with legislation and ACPS guidelines
• Develop training for regulatory prosecution practices
Requirements:
• Juris Doctor or LLB with Alberta Law Society membership eligibility
• 4+ years post-bar experience for CP2, 11+ for CP3
