Birchmount Community Action Council (BCAC) in partnership with FoodShare Toronto strives to create a workspace that reflects the diversity of identities and lived experiences within the communities we work with. We are committed to identifying and dismantling systemic oppression in the food system. Racialized people and those from equity‑seeking groups are over‑represented in food insecurity and poverty statistics but under‑represented in community‑based food work. We believe those most affected by an issue must have access to paid positions in organisations that challenge poverty and food insecurity.

BCAC is a resident‑led council dedicated to making the Loneview neighbourhood safer and more vibrant by creating opportunities for community recreation and local food production.
