This may include planning the purchasing and scheduling of materials, services, and supplies, but normally does not include sourcing or negotiation with vendors.
Centralized Purchasing Focus: This Buyer may be responsible for the process of purchasing of equipment, materials, supplies and services through the centralized Purchasing Function.
This incumbent will usually execute the work established by a Corporate Purchasing Manager.
Plant (Operations) Purchasing Focus: This Buyer may be responsible for the process of purchasing raw materials and supplies for a manufacturing function.
This incumbent will usually execute the work established by the Divisional or manufacturing-focused Purchasing Manager.
