Job Description
Project description
Third-cycle subject: Engineering materials science
The steel industry is undergoing a major transition toward more sustainable, resource-efficient, and low-emission production. Digitalization and advanced process technologies are becoming increasingly important for improving efficiency, product quality, and environmental performance across modern steelmaking operations.
This project will investigate how data-driven methods and digital technologies can support the optimization of steelmaking processes. The research combines metallurgical knowledge with approaches in data analysis, machine learning, artificial intelligence, and process optimization to improve process understanding, operational performance, resource efficiency, and sustainability.
The project will be carried out in close collaboration with European industrial partners and research institutions. It includes interdisciplinary research, industrial cooperatio...
