Drafting Technician – Sturgeon Falls, ON
Sandvik Mining is seeking a Drafting Technician.
What you will be doing
- Technical Drafting – Produce accurate 2D and 3D drawings, models, and schematics using CAD software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Inventor). Update and maintain engineering drawings and documentation throughout the product lifecycle. Interpret engineering sketches, specifications, and design intent to create clear, manufacturable drawings. Ensure compliance with industry standards, internal guidelines, and regulatory requirements.
- Lean & Continuous Improvement – Apply Lean methodologies (5S, Kaizen, value stream mapping, standard work) to improve drafting workflows and documentation processes. Identify opportunities to reduce waste, improve clarity, and enhance efficiency. Collaborate with engineering and operations teams on Lean initiatives and process optimization.
