Emergency Medical Technician

Summary : Respond to emergent and non-emergent 911 calls in an almost immediate timeframe, and assesses/cares for patients experiencing both emergencies and chronic medical conditions by performing the following duties personally. Responsible for ensuring that all critical tasks are fulfilled on a timely basis.
Critical Tasks:

• Maintains continually updated knowledge of treatment protocols and methods in a constantly changing environment.

• Makes timely high quality medical and life/death decisions within limits of training and certification.

• Rapidly assesses nature and extent of injuries and illnesses to establish and prioritize medical procedures to be followed.

• Fully coordinates activities and actions with all other involved emergency staff members including with other agencies.
