A Concessionária
A Águas do Rio, concessionaire of Aegea, is responsible for water supply and sanitary sewage in 27 municipalities of Rio de Janeiro state, including 124 neighborhoods of the capital, serving 10 million people.

During the concession period, starting November 1, 2021, the company made the largest sanitation investment in the country, around R$ 39 billion. R$ 15.4 billion in grant, to be applied to priority projects of state and municipal governments, and R$ 24.4 billion for the universalization of water and sewage services, which will be reached in the first 12 years, in alignment with the new Regulatory Framework for Sanitation.
