Job Description
Under limited supervision, the Industrial Safety Specialist II (IS) is responsible for implementing and administering industrial safety programs affecting employee, public safety and occupational health. Serves as a resource for line management to administer a proactive prevention program for occupational accidents and illnesses; under general supervision performs technical work in a wide range of IS disciplines to achieve compliance with ES&H standards along with federal and state regulatory requirements; exhibits knowledge and applies fundamental concepts, practices and procedures of IS; assists in the development, implementation and maintenance of IS programs, systems and procedures; monitors and prevents hazards and diseases that could be found in the work area; investigates accidents, injuries, and complaints concerning hazards in the workplace; actively supporting implementation of WTCC Safety Culture improvement and the WTCC Voluntary Protection Program (VPP) improvement actions...
