About the role
Intermediate Level Underwriter, Commercial Lines Property & Casualty — Vancouver or Victoria, BC. Permanent, full‑time position requiring a minimum of 2 days per week in the office. What you'll do here:
Assess, evaluate, and negotiate moderate to complex risks. Apply effective pricing and underwriting strategies in accordance with company guidelines and personal underwriting authority limits. Within your level of authority, quote, negotiate, sell, and authorize the acceptance of moderate to complex new business, renewals, and endorsements to develop and retain profitable business according to the department’s business plan. Participate in broker visits, insurance industry functions, and marketing events to support broker relationship development. Arrange reinsurance when required.
