Labour Relations Officer

Position Overview Reporting to the Manager - Labour Relations, the Labour Relations Officer is responsible for the effective administration of labour and employee relations within a complex, multi-union healthcare environment. The incumbent supports management to ensure consistent application of collective agreements, promote positive relationships with union representatives, assist with resolving labour disputes, and provide education to build capacity amongst managers. The incumbent exercises the appropriate level of initiative and independent judgment in determining work priorities, work methods to be employed and action to be taken on unusual matters. The position functions in a manner that is consistent with the mission, vision and values; and the policies of Southern Health‑Santé Sud.

Experience

Minimum one (2) years’ human resource experience in a unionized environment required. Other suitable combinations of education and experience may be considered.
