Job Summary
The Lead Cook supervises the kitchen staff and maintains the overall cleanliness and upkeep of The Edmonton Centre of Hope’s kitchen. The Lead Cook provides direction and supervision to cooks and assists the Food Services Manager with the smooth, efficient, and effective delivery of food services. The Lead Cook prepares and serves nutritious meals as outlined on menus in accordance with applicable food service and safety regulations, provides efficient delivery of food services delivered out of the kitchen of the Edmonton Centre of Hope, and maintains the food services area in a clean and tidy manner at all times.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the preparation of schedules for staff to assure coverage with appropriate number and classification of staff.
- Provide training and guidance to kitchen staff as required.
- In consultation with the Food Services Manager, review production schedule to determine food requirements.
