Responsibilities
- Collaborate with members of an interdisciplinary health team
- Coordinate patient care
- Evaluate patient care and progress
- Interpret medical test results
- Monitor patients and advise physician of any changes in patients’ condition
- Order medical diagnostic or clinical tests
- Plan patient care
- Provide end‑of‑life counselling and bereavement support to patients and their families
- Care for, assess and monitor the health of newborns and refer infants to appropriate medical services as required
- Provide advice and guidance regarding care for newborns and young infants
- Provide primary, full‑course, care to women and their babies during pregnancy, labour, birth and the post‑natal period including monitoring the health of mother and baby
