Responsibilities

The Department of Information Systems invites applicants to outline a research proposal for a PhD project in the ICT4D area. ICT4D investigates the interplay between digital technologies and human development. ICT4D entails a transformative process in which digital technology (e.g., social media, smartphones, artificial intelligence, etc.) enables or constrains developmental outcomes (e.g., social inclusion, empowerment, civic engagement, etc.).

The candidate will perform research on ICT4D. The research could focus on how digital technologies enable or constrain development opportunities for individuals, groups, or societies across different domains, such as socio-economic inclusion, public health, education, environmental sustainability, and civic participation.
