Summary The Physician Assistant for the outpatient Pulmonary Team at the Durham VA Medical Center is fully-qualified and certified to function in both a clinical and administrative role and in accordance with the guidelines and policies of the Durham Veterans Affairs Medical Center. This individual is delegated the authority and responsibility to assume clinical, consultative, educational, research, and administrative duties and assignments related to the care of pulmonary patients. Responsibilities Specific duties include, but are not limited to: Clinical: Manages outpatients in the Pulmonary Service in accordance with applicable medical practice guidelines Participates as a key member of the patient care team to formulate treatment plans and monitor patient progress Utilizes and promotes approved standards of care, procedures, methods, techniques, safety precautions, and protocols in their application to patients.
