Job Overview
Reporting to the Rehabilitation Services Manager, the Physiotherapist assesses, diagnoses, and treats patients in a tertiary care setting who present with actual or potential impairment, pain, functional limitations or disabilities. The role involves obtaining a detailed medical history, performing specific and standardized tests and evaluation procedures to determine a physical diagnosis. Holistic treatment programs are developed using exercises, education, and manual, mechanical, electrical and hydrotherapy techniques to assist patients in regaining and/or maintaining the optimum level of function.
The Physiotherapist communicates with other health disciplines, the general public, family members and caregivers regarding health promotion, physiotherapy treatment and patient management.
