- Pipeline Engineer II Location: Salt Lake City, UT 84111 Duration: 12 Months #18964 Pay rate 65-70/hr Description: Key responsibilities include providing technical and design support for pipeline routing and layout, determining block and tap valve placement, and designing pipeline crossings for rivers, interstates, and highways using open dig or trenchless construction methods.
The role requires knowledge of and ensuring compliance with industry codes, standards, and best practices, as well as performing engineering analyses of pipeline stress from:
- internal pressure, external loads, thermal expansion, soil loads, seismic effects, etc.
- Additional duties include specifying pipe materials and coatings, procuring materials, preparing and submitting engineering documentation (including calculations, forms, and checklists), tracking project schedules and monitoring budgets.
