Job Description
Plate Fabricator/Fitter - Day Shift - 6:00 am–4:30 pm
Responsibilities
- Work with heavy plate steel
- Read and interpret and blueprints
- Plan the sequence of tasks and assemble parts according to drawings
- Fabricate steel weldments and use measuring instruments
- Assemble and fit metal sections and plates together to form complete units or sub-units
- Fasten components together (by tack weld) in preparation for a welder to complete the process
- Transportraw materials and finished metal products manually, using hoists or other devices
- Sortmetal sheets and parts, scrap metal and other materials
- Grind and deburr sharp edges from metal parts using hand and power tools
- Operate forklifts and overhead cranes
- Maintain a clean, orderly and safe work environment
- Performother duties as required
