Position Summary

The nurse is responsible for assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating nursing care for individual patients and families.

Responsibilities

• Effectively uses the nursing process
• Practices according to the standards set by the College of Nurses of Ontario, the Hospital, and the patient service unit
• Provides appropriate learning experiences for the patient and family to promote or maintain wellness and to achieve an optimal quality of life
• Is accountable for maintaining competence while developing the quality of his or her professional nursing practice

Qualifications

• Current Certification of Registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario (Essential)
• Current CPR Certification (Essential)
• Experience with the paediatric population (minimum 2 years) (Essential)
• Demonstrated culturally sensitive approach to nursing care (Essential)
