Responsibilities

Reporting to the Manager of Investigation Services, the Residential Tenancies Officer is responsible for conducting on-site rental unit inspections, assessing repair issues with respect to compliance with legislation governing health, safety and building standards, issuing orders with written reasons in areas of non‑compliance, ensuring repairs are completed in a timely fashion, enforcing orders in accordance with the Residential Tenancies Act, conducting investigations of abandoned personal property, lockouts, utility shut‑offs, collecting rents, hiring contractors, and advising landlords and tenants on legislation via public enga...
