6 months contract with a local authority Job Purpose To provide a safe crossing service for pedestrians, particularly children and vulnerable individuals, during school opening and closing times. The post holder will play a key role in supporting the local community by ensuring roads are safe to cross and helping to protect children travelling to and from school. Key Duties/Accountabilities Safely control traffic at the designated crossing point to allow pedestrians to cross the road. Give clear and authoritative signals to drivers, ensuring traffic remains stationary until the crossing is clear. Have due regard for individuals with disabilities, particularly those with mobility impairments. Maintain regular communication with the school(s) attended by children using the crossing. Regularly assess risks at the crossing point and report any safety concerns, defects, or incidents to the supervisor.
