Working on new varieties in a fast-paced environment
What are you going to do? As a Senior Breeder Hydro Lettuce, you will be responsible for the development of lettuce varieties for high-tech hydroponic growing systems. You will manage a breeding program in several lettuce types, like the trio lettuce. To this purpose, you will create a long-term vision based on the latest market developments. You will prepare and execute the breeding trials, and consequently analyse the data from these trials.
You will work together in international and multidisciplinary teams, with for example the sales representatives, production specialists, biotech breeders and researchers, and also with external companies. Trials are located in different regions in North-West Europe.
You will work together with the other breeders in the team and report to the Crop Breeding Manager Leafy Vegetables.
