Responsibilities
- Drive lightweight special purpose trucks.
- Load and unload goods.
- Operate and drive straight or articulated trucks to transport goods and materials.
- Oversee vehicle condition and inspect tires, lights, brakes, cold storage and other equipment.
- Pay and receive payments for goods.
- Perform brake adjustments.
- Perform pre‑trip, en‑route and post‑trip inspections and oversee all aspects of the vehicle.
- Perform preventive maintenance.
- Receive and relay information to central dispatch.
- Tarp the cargo and ensure safety and security.
Qualifications
- Air brakes endorsement.
- Driver's licence (Class 1 or A) – valid driver's licence required.
- Knowledge of driver logbook, inspection reports, maintenance/repair reports, and trip reports.
