Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Provide assessment, treatment, education, and counselling to adult inpatients with swallowing and communication impairments within subacute and acute stroke patient population.
  • Support a variety of subacute and acute medical and rehabilitation adult populations within Markham Stouffville Hospital.
  • Participate in ongoing program development and quality‑improvement activities.

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Speech Language Pathology.
  • Current registration with the College of Audiologists and Speech Language Pathologists of Ontario.
  • At least 2 years recent experience with dysphagia and communication disorders in a subacute and/or acute medical environment (e.g., ALC, general medicine, neurology, stroke rehab).
  • Proficiency with videofluoroscopic swallow studies; MBSImP certification.
