Role

To provide leadership and to assist the principal in ensuring that the Public Schools Program and curriculum are implemented to maximize student learning. The vice‑principal is also responsible for the orderly operation of the school in the absence of the principal, and any duties assigned by the principal.

Responsibilities

• To assist the principal in taking all reasonable steps to secure full and regular attendance at school of the students enrolled in accordance with policies established by the SRCE;
• To assist in the completion of required documents as requested by the SRCE and/or the Department of Education and Early Childhood Development;
• To assist in the identification of staffing needs for the school and to assist in the selection of staff;
• To assist in maintenance of financial records;
