Job Description
Working closely with the Executive Director, the Tourism Information Officer is responsible for:
- Answering questions from tourists, visitors, local residents and other tourism industry colleagues, in person, over the phone, via email or online
- Making suggestions on downtown shops, restaurants, attractions, and events
- Providing literature and information on places of interest downtown
- Selling merchandise and downtown dollars
- Distributing print advertising material to downtown shops and external visitors
- Undertaking general clerical and office duties
- Putting together statistics concerning the number and nature of enquiries
- Being responsible for overall presentation of the downtown core, maintaining clean streets and handling streetscape complaints
