Vice Director for Manpower and Personnel

Summary This position is located in the Joint Staff (JS) Manpower and Personnel Directorate (J-1) at the Pentagon and is the Vice Director for Manpower and Personnel (VDJ-1). The VDJ-1 reports directly to the Director of Manpower and Personnel (DJ-1). The VDJ-1 serves as the deputy/alter ego to the DJ-1 and fully shares in assigned duties, responsibilities and program authorities. Responsibilities The VDJ-1 shares responsibility for integrating all joint force manpower and personnel functions to strengthen the operational effectiveness of both the current joint force and that of the interdependent future force. All duties are aligned through the J-ls core competencies including plans and policy development, human resource allocation, resource management, military and civilian personnel management and data analysis.
