W/WW Treatment Plant Apprentice

Introduction

Under direct oversight from Water/Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator II or III, the W/WW Treatment Plant Apprentice performs a variety of skilled work in the operation and maintenance of the City's water or wastewater treatment plant equipment and processes.

The Water/Wastewater Treatment Plant Apprenticeship classification is intended as a two year training program within the Water Resources Department. Upon satisfactory completion of the two year program, the successful candidate will be fully qualified as a Water/Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator II, capable of assuming all duties and responsibilities associated with operation of the treatment works within the Water Resources Division.

Please note:

There are two positions available; one in Water Treatment and one in Wastewater Treatment.

This position will be required to work various shifts to include nights, weekends, and holidays.
